danny stephenson (PADi advanced open water diver)

Danny first became interested in marine science during a summer camp at the NOAA facility on Lake Washington. He started diving in 2019 and is currently a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver working to master his underwater photography skills. He loves to shoot photos of crabs and anything macro. You can find Danny swimming through the plumose sea anemones that cover the De Lion Drydock, his favorite spot, or observing the lingcod around the Lopez Pontoon. Danny loves the water, especially when he is diving with the team, fishing, crabbing, or competing with the Sheridan Beach Swim Team. When Danny’s not in liquid water, he plays in frozen water: skiing and sledding on the mountains in Sun Valley, Idaho. He loves eating Mexican food while he watches the Seahawks play. Other interests include playing basketball, biking, and watching football. Danny plays piano and clarinet but if you heard his Spotify playlist it would be a mix of country, rap, and hip hop.

Favorite park species: Nudibranchs

PADI specialties: Dry Suit, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Underwater Photographer, Edmonds Underwater Park Diver

Favorite Edmonds Underwater Park memory: Earning his PADI Open Water Diver certification with Annie

I speak up for the ocean because the ocean is part of our life. Without it, we wouldn’t be able to live. The ocean is part of the food, the animals, the adventure, and the learning the earth needs.
