Description:  Shimmering greyish-brown in color. Covered in white spots and has a silver underside. The spotted ratfish is characterized by a large snout, small mouth and tapering tail. Large spine located on dorsal fin.

Habitat and behavior: Commonly found on sandy bottoms. Ratfish glide through the water, flapping like a bird with its pectoral fins. The ratfish is a generalist eater, feeding primarily on fish, crustaceans, and molluscs.
